3rd Grade Garden Adventure
3rd Grade Garden Adventure
What an adventure! The 3rd grade was able to go on a field trip to Pearl City Urban Garden Center. We were assisted by great tour guides that showed us the garden world. We saw and experienced many different gardens! We saw the Sensory Garden. This garden had all sorts of plants that we could touch, smell, and look at. There were sandpaper plants and plants that were soft like lambs ears. We saw a butterfly garden. There was a tunnel that we could go through that taught us how a caterpillar gets air! The next garden we visited the animal garden. There were all sorts of plants that were named after animals because of its characteristics. We also visited the house garden. This had plants that had characteristics of different rooms of a house! It was very interesting seeing trees that looked like a shower! We also got to walk on a boardwalk through the trees. Here we got to see coffee trees and chocolate trees! Yum! We also were taught about [the] sundial. We learned how it works and made one out of paper! What a great day of learning!
