Graduate Studies Tuition Assistance

Hanalani Schools encourages our students to pursue knowledge and understanding, and we desire the same effort from faculty and staff. We are committed to faculty and staff development and offer a graduate studies tuition assistance program. Hanalani will pay 50% of the tuition cost for education related courses. Some restrictions apply and a multi-year employment agreement may be required.

Medical, Dental, Vision, & Drug Insurance

Hanalani offers medical and dental insurance to all employees working 20 or more hours per week. We offer a variety of plans and rates. Some are available at little or no cost to the employee. More information is available upon request.

Tuition Discount

Hanalani employees receive a discount on their children’s tuition at Hanalani Schools.

Tropical Locale

The Lord has blessed Hawaii with gorgeous scenery and amazing beaches. Hawaii’s climate is consistent all year round: warm and sunny with light showers and trade winds. Many of our faculty and staff members enjoy outdoor activities like beach-going, hiking, surfing, fishing, and diving; and newcomers are welcome!

 

Teaching Faculty General Requirements

  • Divisions:
    Early Childhood, Elementary, Upper School
  • Position Supervisor:
    Divisional Administrator or Principal
  • Minimum Qualifications:
    (K3-K5) - Associates Degree,
    (1st - 12th) - Bachelors Degree
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    2 or more years classroom experience

Daily Responsibilities & Duties

  • Develop, implement, supervise, and assess successful/engaging weekly lesson plans integrating the Bible and subject matter.
  • Implement a variety of strategies and methods to ensure a high level of student learning.
  • Implement a variety of assessment strategies to verify a high level of student learning and guide curricular modifications.
  • Establish positive relationships with students.
  • Know where the students are in their lives—spiritual, academic, social, and emotional.
  • Implement a successful classroom management plan.

Daily Responsibilities & Duties (Cont.)

  • Create a classroom learning environment that will promote successful learning through an ordered arrangement, cleanliness, and attractive décor.
  • Maintain a positive relationship and ensure adequate communication with parents through notes, phone calls, posting on school website, and parent conferences.
  • Become a Biblical exemplar for students, parent, co-workers, and the community by demonstrating spiritual maturity and academic abilities.
  • Prepare student mid-quarter progress reports and report cards.
  • Maintain required records such as attendance and grades.
  • Participate in curriculum development sessions to ensure a relevant and rigorous program.
  • Attend all grade level, school improvement process, and faculty/staff meetings.
  • Keep abreast of research and trends in the teacher’s field.
  • Assist and attend co-curricular functions, i.e., divisional programs, all-school events, etc.
  • Assume an equal share of the divisional faculty responsibilities.
  • Effectively utilize volunteers and student aides.
  • Abide by the guidelines outlined in the Faculty and Staff Handbook.
  • Perform any related duties as assigned.
