Upper School Parent Orientation

Parent Orientation will be held Monday, August 18, at 7 p.m. in the Student Activity Center (Upper School courtyard). The evening will introduce parents to Hanalani School’s Upper School program, allowing them to catch a glimpse of what the school year has in store. It will additionally offer a time for parents and teachers to meet informally on a friendly basis. At least one parent of each student should attend the orientation.

Health Documentation Requirements

All students must have submitted an up to date health card (Form 14 or HA-16). Students entering 7th grade and any student entering school in Hawaii for the first time, must submit a (1.) Tuberculosis (TB) clearance and (2.) a completed Health Record Form (HA-16), with immunizations and a physical examination dated within one year before the first day of school. Students may not begin school unless these forms have been submitted.

Lunch

School lunch will be available on the first day of school. Lunches may be purchased with lunch coupons or cash. Lunch coupon books will be available for purchase at the kitchen starting July 7 from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Coupons allow the purchase of a complete meal, including entree, fruit, vegetable, and milk. Additional items (separate from the daily hot lunch) such as cheeseburgers, musubi, and bentos will also be available for purchase with cash only.

Portrait Day

Wednesday, August 20, will be Portrait Day for all Upper School students. All students will be required to take a picture for yearbook and school ID purposes, whether or not a package is purchased. Appropriate attire information will be given out on the first day of school.

Summer Reading Reminder

A test will be given during the first week of school on the required summer reading book for History (grades 8-12). Books are available for purchase in the campus store “By the Book.” All students accepted prior to August 4 will be required to take this test.
