Michael David, Upper School Principal

Meet Mr. Michael David, our Upper School Principal! Mr. David has a rich educational background of twenty years, which includes thirteen years as a teacher and seven as a principal in California and Hawaii, both in public and private schools. For the past five years, Mr. David has been a teacher in our Upper School (US) STEM department; and for the past four years, he has served as both the US science department head and a coordinator for the US Professional Learning Community. He has also coached several of our volleyball teams.

Mr. David has a passion for learning and sees education as both the “keys” and the “vehicle” to success. He loves having the opportunity to work with students that will change the future, and often advises his students to ask questions because he believes that doing so allows for limitless opportunities and information. Three words that his students often use to describe him are faithful, committed, and funny!

Entering the 2019-2020 year here at Hanalani, Mr. David says that he is grateful for the support and confidence of the staff and faculty. He is excited to contribute to making Hanalani a place that its students and staff love well, and to empower the students and staff to contribute to, “positively changing the culture, raising expectations, and increasing the quality of the school.”

Aloha, Mr. David!
