Ka Imi Loa 5th and 6th Graders visit Malama Loko Ea.
Ka Imi Loa 5th and 6th Grade summer school students ventured out to the North Shore this week to visit Mālama Loko Ea, a native Hawaiian fishpond in the town of Haleʻiwa. They learned about the native Hawaiian culture while helping to restore the fishpond to its former glory. Residents of the pond include ulua (giant trevally), ama‘ama (striped mullet), kā.kū (barracuda), and much more.
Great work students in demonstrating servant leadership while helping our community!
