  • New Parent Welcome

Our Admissions team will host an orientation session on Friday, July 28, 2023, for families who are new to our Hanalani `Ohana this school year. More information will be sent via email.

  • Individual Student Orientation

Orientation appointments will be scheduled on August 7-8. During the 15-minute appointment, the K3 & K4 student and his/her parents will visit the classroom and meet with the teacher. Students should bring their school supplies at that time.

It is not necessary for students to wear their uniforms to the orientation. The Appointment day and time will be confirmed by the Early Childhood Office.

    What to bring to orientation:
    • School Supplies

  • New School Year Preparation

Your child's adjustment to school will be smoother if a schedule of wake-up time, lunch, rest/nap, and bedtime has been established a couple of weeks before school starts.

For the school year, the students will have the following schedule:
    • K3 & K4 will have lunch around 10:45 AM daily
    • K3 & K4 nap time is at 12:00 PM daily

  • Potty Trained Policy

Students are required to be completely potty trained by July 1.  While children may be fully potty trained at home, we recognize that the students may need an adjustment period to be fully potty trained while at school.
    • From the beginning of the school year until September 15 will be considered an adjustment period. Occasional accidents are considered understandable. However, frequent accidents (three or more per week) will be considered not completely potty trained. The teacher will meet with parents to establish a plan to complete potty training.
    • After September 15 accident reports will be sent home and the following steps will be implemented.
      • First occurrence: a wet/soiled incident results in a note sent home.
      • Second occurrence: parents are called to take the child home.
      • Third occurrence: the child may be asked to stay home for a week or more until potty training is established.
    • Students should not be having accidents during nap by the beginning of second semester.
    • If all the steps have been taken to help the student complete the potty training process and the student is still having accidents, then the student will be considered not potty trained and will need to withdraw from school till the child is potty trained and an opening is available for the child to re-enroll.
