Hanalani Athletics Continues the Year with a Successful Winter Season

The Winter Sports season has officially ended; and Hanalani has continued to have success, as we did in the fall!
Highlights of this season include:

Junior Ellana Klemp gaining HHSAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player and the ILH D2 MVP!

Xander Erolin finished his wrestling career with PAC-5/Hanalani with an additional ILH Championship, and a State Runner-up in his weight class!
Xander concludes his career as the most decorated athlete in school history with:
  • Three ILH Titles
  • Two HHSAA State Titles
  • One State Runner-up
  • Three First-team League All-star Awards
  • One ILH MVP Award.
Awesome job, Xander! We look forward to you continuing your wrestling career at San Francisco State!

Girls Varsity Soccer, as part of PAC-5, has brought home another HHSAA D2 State Championship! The PAC-5 Wolfpack has consecutively brought home three state championships.
Congratulations to Kana’i Gundaker for being named an All-State Tournament Selection! Rylee Lapenia and Jaeana Monalim played key roles in the starting lineup that led to the Wolfpack getting their three-peat.

Boys Varsity Soccer, as part of PAC-5, returned to the state tournament, advancing to the semifinals. Seniors Matt Kuo, Micah Lee, and Mark Spencer close out amazing soccer careers and have paved a standard of success for future soccer players at Hanalani through PAC-5.
While these may be seen as “highlights,” there is so much more we can share and celebrate – from our numerous intermediate, JV, and varsity teams, to high participation across the board. We thank coaches for their hard work in mentoring, teaching, and shaping our athletes. We thank our parents and families for trusting us to lead their students. And we thank you, the student, for being student-athletes, staying late, waking up early, and doing what you can to represent the Lord, your family, and Hanalani, on and off the court.
We know that one day, the sports will end. It is our hope that we continue to strive to be an athletics program that can take our sports experience and apply wisdom from sports to our present and future. Let us continue to walk together, train together, and sacrifice together so that we can take everything we learned and direct it all back to the Lord.
Rise up, Royals!
