K5 Celebrates Koinobori!

To celebrate the Japanese cultural Boys Day, also known as Children’s Day, May 5, Mrs. Sameshima helped the K5 classes create beautiful paper koi! Traditionally, these koi or carp streamers, known as koinobori, represents a parents’ wish for their child to grow up strong and healthy.

By the smiles on our K5 students, the koinobori also make children very happy.

Mahalo Mrs. Sameshima for bringing joy and culture into our students lives.
